To the editor,
Its time for Vermont to take a Time Out on GMOs so the policy can catch up with the technology. People around the state have petitioned again and again for the Vermont legislature to step up protection of Vermont’s valuable agriculture and natural resources beginning with a moratorium on the planting of Genetically Engineered seeds in our state.
Vermont’s legislators need to bring the concerns of Vermont farmers and citizens into their policy making, not the pressure of corporations like Monsanto whose only concern is with cornering the Vermont agricultural sector for profit. The future health and safety of Vermont’s land and water, farming and recreation, is at the heart of this matter.
No more GMOs in Vermont!
