To the editor,
Corporations like Monsanto are breeding lies in the state house like they are breeding poisons in our environment! Genetically Engineered foods have not been proven safe for consumption, and this genetic pollution is spreading like a virus around the world and across Vermont. We value our working landscape of forests and farms and don’t want to see GMOs polluting the environment and pumping more chemicals into our soil, water and food. Monsanto’s insidious marketing of their products through lies and deceptions, and indebting farmers to their patented seeds and poisons, should not be condoned in the Vermont state house any longer.
Vermont is leading the nation in GMO policy, and cannot stop now! 70 towns across our state have passed resolutions calling for action at the local and national level on GMO food labeling, a moratorium on GMO crops, and holding corporations accountable for the contamination by GMOs. The future of Vermont’s environment demands an immediate moratorium on GMOs!
Sincerely,
