Less Traffic, Less Pollution, an Alternative That Works

March 15, 16 and 17
VPIRG and the Vermont Smart Growth Collaborative have designed alternatives to the Circ highway project. To learn about these alternatives and what can be done there will be three meetings held March 15th, 16th and 17th.

Everyone wants to fix traffic in Chittenden County. But building more highways is not the answer. According to the Agency of Transportation, building the Williston segments of the Circ would: make commutes an average of only 7 seconds faster; cost taxpayers $55 million; and create a net loss in jobs. That's why VPIRG and the Vermont Smart Growth Collaborative have proposed alternatives to the Circ highway that solve our traffic problems using more neighborly road design. To tell the agency of Transportation to consider our alternatives, come to one of the 3 open houses on the Circ:

All three events run from 6:30-9PM, you can come by at any time:
Tuesday, March 15 at Browns River Middle School, 20 River Road, Jericho.
Wednesday, March 16 at Williston Town Hall, 7900 Williston Road (Route 2)
Thursday, March 17 at Contois Auditorium, Burlington City Hall
