WHAT: Conventional and Organic Farmers Note Failure of Democracy in Vermont

Farmers from around the state will gather to express their mounting frustration at
the failure of the democratic process in Vermont and the adminstration's clear bias
toward multi-national corporate interests -- particularly the Secretary of
Agriculture's strong commitment to the biotechnology industry.

"How can we talk about coexistence until we know that we are protected?" Lyle
Edwards, dairy farmer from Westfield, asked recently.

"What an insult to the farm community," added Dexter Randall (P-North Troy), a
7th-generation dairy farmer from North Troy.
