Shelburne Orchards Presents
"Not Far From the Tree"
A Local Movie Premiere!
A movie premiere, currently titled "Not Far From the Tree", about the Shelburne Orchards Small Farms Food Fest and the importance of the 'Buy Local' food movement will be showcased on Friday, April 18th at 7:00 p.m. at Shelburne Orchards, 216 Orchard Road in Shelburne. Filmmaker Ken Peck and videographer Isaac Lane have created a documentary which highlights footage of the Food Fest, as well as interviews with local farmers, musicians, and community members. “If we can do a food festival like this in Vermont, it could be done anywhere in the country,” noted Nick Cowles, owner of Shelburne Orchards. Live music, a raffle, light fare, and a brief introduction by Enid Wonnacott from Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) will all be part of the fun.
Currently titled “Not Far From the Tree”, there’s still a chance to become a Core Sponsor of the film. Although a donation to offset the cost of the movie is not tax-deductible, you’ll get the satisfaction of knowing that you’re part of a wonderful local movement in Vermont. And if you donate $20 or more, your name will be listed in the film credits.
The premiere is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Megan Humphrey at 864-7528 or meganh@sover.net.
