Contact Legislators

Let your legislators know you want them to support legislation that protects family farmers, a local food economy and sustainable agriculture. Tell them to support the issues you care about. To contact your legislators find their information at this site

Write Letters to the Editor

If you email your letter to the editor and you are submitting it to more than one paper email each paper separately so they don’t see that you have already submitted your letter to a paper. Please try and track when your letters are published and clip and send the letters to:

Join The Farm Policy Network

The Goal of the Farm Policy Network is to build an activist network that is informed and committed to moving Vermont towards sustainable, small-scale farming.

In order to achieve this goal we must shift Vermont's priorities -from an economic development model based on high tech industries, to a community development model based on Family farms. This can only be achieved by educating the public on the benefits of sustainable agriculture and by motivating citizens to take action.

Rural Vermont sends out a Farm Policy Network Activist update via email weekly during the legislative session and then bimonthly the rest of the year. These updates include upcoming events around the state, breaking news on our campaigns, and Action Alerts so you can stay involved.

If you are interested in joining our FPN Activist list please click here.

Become A Volunteer

With limited staff, we benefit greatly from even the smallest volunteer committments. We are currently looking for volunteers who can come to the office in Montpelier to help out, volunteers anywhere who can make phone calls for us, and volunteers all over the state who can attend or poster/flyer for nearby events.

Contact Colin, our friendly volunteer coordinator, about helping out; phone and email info are at the bottom of this page.
If you have time, please download the volunteer survey and return the completed form to us by mail, fax (802-223-0269), or email.
