Public Hearing and Comment Period schedule for the RAPs

The Agency of Agriculture has scheduled six public hearings to hear feedback on the proposed Required Agricultural Practices (RAPs).

June 21: 12:30 – 3:30 at the St. Albans Historical Museum, 9 Church Street, St. Albans  –  Rural Vermont staff will be at The Traveled Cup, on Main Street, from 11:00AM until the hearing. Come let me buy and chat about the RAPs and regenerative agriculture before the hearing!   

June 22: 12:30 – 3:30 at the Brandon American Legion, 590 Franklin St, Brandon -Rural Vermont staff will be at Mae’s Place, 25 Center Street in Brandon, from 11:00AM – 12:00PM to chat informally before the hearing. Come let me buy and chat about the RAPs and regenerative agriculture before the hearing!

June 23: 12:30 – 3:30 at the Vermont Law School, 164 Chelsea St, South Royalton – Rural Vermont staff will be at the South Royalton Market, located at 222 Chelsea in downtown South Royalton from 11:00AM until a little after noon. Come let me buy and chat about the RAPs and regenerative agriculture before the hearing!                                                            
June 27: 12:30–3:30 Fraternal Order of Eagles, 2282 VT-11, Manchester Center
Rural Vermont staff will be at The Spiral Press Cafe, 15 Bonnet St
Manchester Center (adjacent to Northshire Books) from 11:00AM – 12:00PM. Come let me buy and chat about the RAPs and regenerative agriculture before the hearing!  

June 28: 12:30 – 3:30 at the Newport American Legion, 160 Freeman Street, Newport

June 29: 12:30 – 3:30 at the Brattleboro American Legion, 32 Linden Street, Brattleboro
Rural Vermont staff will be at The Brattleboro Coop Cafe, 2 Main St, Brattleboro from 11:00AM – 12:00PM. Come let us buy you a cup of coffee and chat about the RAPs and regenerative agriculture before the hearing!  

We must ensure that regenerative agriculture remains a part of the water quality discussion. Rural Vermont staff and Board Members will attend every hearing.

To help farmers attend these important hearings, we’re proud to offer stipends to cover costs like transportation, child care and fill in farm labor. Farmers interested in stipends can contact us for more information.
