Please join the Vermont Cannabis Equity Coalition on Saturday, October 25, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm at the North Branch Nature Center in Montpelier for an in-person community discussion open to industry professionals and community members. This event is free, but pre-registration is helpful! We see a significant amount of valid anger and tension from active licensees, those who have exited the market, those who still wish to join the market, medical patients, caregivers, patrons, and allies who seek improvement. The state is not reinvesting revenue generated from the adult-use cannabis market back into communities or sufficiently into the industry. Vermonters and those visiting cannot safely and legally consume. The obsolete retail-centric market model is causing systemic harm; talented producers are dropping out, retailers are under too much pressure, and consumers are turning elsewhere. These are dangerous trends that will persist if we don’t change course. We can do better than this, and we must!
The Vermont Cannabis Equity Coalition will present an overview of the current state of the market and facilitate a thorough and productive discussion with attendees, taking into consideration the upcoming 2026 legislative session. Locally made light food and drink will be available as we discuss and begin to address challenging subjects together. This event is for those in the regulated adult-use market, those who have exited the regulated space, those who wish to join, and those in the broader regulated and unregulated cannabis community as cultivators, consumers, caregivers, patients, organizers, or otherwise. We ask that elected officials, law enforcement, regulators, and the press please sit this one out to allow us an opportunity to do the work in a distraction-free environment.
