6/1 Rural Vermont Anniversary Party!

On Sunday, June 1st, Rural Vermont members, friends, and honored guests gathered at the Fairfield Community Center to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Over the past four decades, Rural Vermont has benefitted from the guidance of thousands of farmer leaders, each bringing unique skills, experiences, and personalities to our organization.

During the celebration, we had the privilege of honoring one such farmer leader, Doug Flack, a Fairfield local and founder of Flack Family Farm (pictured in the photo gallery). Doug served on the Rural Vermont board for more years than we can count and his ongoing dedication, commitment, and wisdom have significantly impacted not only Rural Vermont but also farmers across Vermont, the country, and even the world. Many friends and supporters shared stories about Doug and his contributions.

The event featured screen printing of t-shirts (thanks, Erok!), block art, live music from the amazing Rusty Bucket band, and delicious wood-fired pizza. It was a wonderful community gathering.

This successful first 40th anniversary celebration was made possible by our dedicated RV board members and volunteers. A special thank you goes to Julie Wolcott and the Fairfield Community Center volunteers, who prepared and served incredibly tasty pizza and welcomed us to their beautiful venue.

Please stay tuned for more 40th Anniversary announcements and events! We look forward to celebrating with you soon!
