Hemp Growers and Processors: Let Us Know YOUR Thoughts!

As you may know, the legislature passed a bill this past session that created a new Hemp Pilot Program that allows registered farmers to grow hemp legally here in Vermont. This is great news, because hemp is a high-value, versatile crop. This fall, the Agency of Agriculture will begin a rulemaking process which will answer many questions about how the Agency will interact with registered hemp farmers, including when the hemp will be tested for THC levels, and how much Agency oversight there is during the season. Rural Vermont's goal is to make sure that our constituents are represented in the rulemaking, and that the new rules are fair to all producers, processors, and consumers. In order to better understand the concerns and interests of Vermont hemp farmers, we have created a survey about hemp farming. This information will be kept entirely confidential, and will be used to help us better represent your interests. Thank you for your time, and your help! Please note the deadline for completing this survey is Friday, August 31st
